What brought you into this field?
I actually hated nursing school until I reached my mental health rotation. Suddenly everything clicked. My professor was beautiful and funny and smart and queer(!), and for the first time I found myself excited to wake up and learn. I’ve always been fascinated by the human experience, but that rotation showed me how deeply I connected with people’s stories, their vulnerabilities, and their resilience. I realized not only was I passionate about this work, but I was genuinely good at it. As I poured myself further into psychiatric mental health nursing, my love for people—their souls and their stories—only grew. That passion ultimately led me to pursue my doctorate and become a psychiatric nurse practitioner, a role where I get to honor those stories every day.
Counseling style:
My approach values building authentic and meaningful relationships over simply providing medication refills. I combine medication management with supportive psychotherapy to give you a holistic approach to mental health treatment. I’m a full human, both in and out of session, and I’m committed to fostering a safe, nonjudgmental space for you.
Modalities:
My work draws upon solution-focused therapy to help identify strengths and create practical, achievable steps forward, while CBT and DBT offer tools for reframing thoughts, regulating emotions, and building skills that support daily functioning. At the core of all my work is relational therapy—the belief that healing happens through authentic connection. Together, these modalities allow me to meet people where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.
