What brought you into this field?

I have always had an interest in people’s stories, which first inspired a passion for writing and film, then sociology, and eventually psychology. I also benefited from therapy throughout my adolescence, which allowed me to see the potential for therapy to provide a space for healing, growth, and recovery. I find myself inspired and humbled by the strength, compassion, creativity, and determination shown by individuals I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and I consider it a privilege to support and empower others on their journey.

Counseling style:

My counseling style is warm, collaborative, person-centered, and relational, and incorporates an awareness and understanding of the ways in which larger social structures impact our felt experience of navigating through the world. I am trauma-informed and anti-oppressive in my practice and enjoy using humor, mindfulness, and creative expression.

Modalities:

The modalities I draw from include person-centered therapy, strengths-based therapy, attachment-based therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practice.

Specializations:

Working with adolescents, young adults, and parents.

Education:

Master of Social Work, Salem State University

Past Experience:

My experience includes working as a community residence counselor at a specialized DBT-based residential program for adolescents and young adults; supporting foster parents with trauma-informed coaching and co-facilitating a life skills group for teenagers in foster care at a family services agency; and providing individual outpatient therapy services for parents, children, and adolescents at a practice for children and families. I also have experience working as a nanny, which has given me helpful insight into early childhood development and some of the demands of caring for young children.

Trainings:
